ADULT CONGENITAL HEART CARDIOLOGIST
Opportunity at Children's National Medical Center
The Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC is recruiting an adult congenital heart cardiologist to participate in the Washington Adult Congenital Heart Program, a collaborative program of the Children’s Hospital and Washington Hospital Center. Our choice is an individual trained in medicine and pediatrics with additional cardiology training, either in adult or pediatric cardiology, with additional ACHD training and/or experience. The Division of Cardiology is an integral part of the Children’s National Heart Institute which includes Cardiovascular Surgery, Cardiac Intensive Care and Cardiac Anesthesia. Physicians in the division have faculty appointments at The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences.
The adult congenital heart program is currently staffed by an adult cardiologist with ACHD training, a pediatric cardiologist with ACHD experience, and a family practice nurse practitioner. Practice includes adult and pediatric hospitals. All diagnostic, interventional and surgical modalities are available and excellent for ACHD care within the program. We have active and excellent collaboration with physicians with ACHD expertise within obstetrics, pulmonary, hepatology, renal, and genetics divisions.
Over 3000 adults are followed here now with 700 seen in the Adult Congenital Heart program. This cardiologist will have full responsibility for developing a formal transition program for these adults to move into ACHD care.
Candidates may submit their curriculum vitae to Karen Kuehl, MD, MPH, via e-mail to kkuehl@cnmc.org.
